Destin Sharks Softball Dominates Pensacola with a 10-0 Victory

The 2025 Destin Sharks softball team delivered an impressive performance on Friday, shutting out Pensacola High School with a decisive 10-0 victory, improving their season record to 8-3. The standout of the game was Lyliana Kessler, whose remarkable day at the plate propelled the Sharks to their victory.

Kessler was unstoppable, going three-for-three with a triple in the first inning, a double in the third inning, and a single in the fifth inning. She also showcased patience at the plate, drawing a crucial walk that brought in a run during a dominant seven-run third inning for Destin.

The explosive third inning also featured significant contributions from Londyn Albee and Keelie Ellis, who each singled, bringing in one and two runs, respectively. Bella Eubank added a key double that scored another run, while Emma Grisoff contributed with a two-run single.

Destin set the tone early, with Anita Palmer igniting the scoring by singling to center field in the first inning and later scoring on a tag-up play, establishing early momentum for the Sharks.

On the mound, Kessler was equally dominant, pitching five shutout innings, allowing just one hit, striking out six, and walking one.

Bella Eubank supported the offensive effort with two hits in three at-bats. The Sharks also displayed aggressive base running, accumulating 13 stolen bases, led by multiple steals from Eubank, Albee, Palmer, and Grisoff. The team’s disciplined approach resulted in six walks, demonstrating excellent plate discipline throughout the game.

Defensively, the Sharks were flawless, committing no errors and even executing a double play. Laurel Churchill anchored the defense, handling six chances cleanly.
